DALLAS (March 30) — NetworkIP, a leader in stored value solutions, has received approval from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for a patent on iQ TechnologyT (iQT), an exclusive suite of tools that measure call quality and termination. NetworkIP has patented both the algorithms and software to model end-user perception of voice quality in a telecommunications network.

iQT monitors and analyzes, in real time, the end-user experience, identifying and pinpointing when callers experience fast-busy signals, dead air, poor audio quality and cut offs. IQ Technology is agnostic to the underlying technologies – VoIP, TDM, etc. – used by carriers connecting the calls. Instead, it focuses on the end-user experience regardless of how the call is connected.

Traditional telecom measures of voice quality, such as ASR (answer-supervision ratio), ACD (average call duration), and PDD (post-dial delay) fail to detect negative voice quality under certain conditions, precisely because these traditional measures fail to model what actual end-users (the people who actually pick up the phone to make telephone calls) experience during a call. NetworkIP’s iQ Technology uses a set of algorithms to monitor and analyze end-user call attempts in real time and automatically removes carrier routes that do not meet minimum quality.

“In this chaotic and cost cutting telecom industry, NetworkIP’s iQT technology allows us to quantify and ensure a more successful end-user experience,” said Pete Pattullo, NetworkIP CEO and President. “Since 1998 we have set the industry standard for reliability, functionality and ingenuity by offering best quality service, robust network capacity, and patented customer management tools. iQT underscores our commitment to deliver the best connections for our valued distributors of prepaid and stored value products and services.”

For prepaid distributors and their customers, the results are higher percentages of successful calls, better call quality and fewer trouble tickets.

NetworkIP is also the only service bureau where customers can review daily, weekly and monthly iQT scores on a country-by-country basis before they commit to printing and distributing prepaid cards targeted to those destinations.

“If you don’t know your iQT score on a country-by-country basis, you’re operating blindly as a prepaid products and services distributor and missing a key asset in your portfolio. As a NetworkIP customer, you have full access to iQT and you are assured of running your business through the most responsive and the most innovative voice quality management system in the industry,” added Pattullo.

DALLAS (March 4) — NetworkIP, a leader in stored value solutions, has launched version 2.0 of iQ Technology (iQT), an exclusive suite of patent-pending measurement tools that deliver unsurpassed call quality and termination.

NetworkIP’s iQ Technology uses a set of algorithms to monitor and analyze end-user call attempts in real time and automatically remove carrier routes that do not meet minimum quality. For prepaid distributors the results are higher percentages of successful calls, better call quality and fewer trouble tickets. NetworkIP is the only company providing this level of Quality Assurance.

“At NetworkIP, it’s all about ensuring the best connections for our valued customers; that’s why we are constantly evolving and improving our iQ Technology tools,” said Pete Pattullo, NetworkIP CEO and President. “We challenge competitors to match our country-by-country call quality and termination iQT scores.”

NetworkIP is the only service bureau where customers can review daily, weekly and monthly iQT scores on a country-by-country basis before they commit to printing and distributing prepaid cards targeted to those destinations.

iQT compensates for the unreliability of traditional call measurement systems – Answer Supervision Ratio (ASR), Average Call Duration (ACD) and Post Dial Delay (PDD) – that can be tricked by certain routing systems like VoIP and gray routes.

“iQ Technology underscores NetworkIP’s commitment to deliver the highest quality, most competitive and flexible virtual services platform in the industry for companies interested in exploring a service bureau solution,” added Pattullo.

NetworkIP will demonstrate iQ Technology at Booth 325 during the Intele-CardExpo, which will take place from March 22 to 24 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

MIAMI, FL (January 12, 2005) The Prepaid Press is publishing an investigative report in its January 15, 2005 issue alleging that AT&T has monopolized prepaid calling services in Iraq, generating at least $48 million a year.

Senior editor Gene Retske reports that AT&T established payphones in Iraq are blocking access to other carriers, selling its services for prices that are three to four times those charged by competitors.

The report says that AT&T would not be permitted to monopolize access on its payphones under US laws. US payphone operators can charge alternate carriers a fee for the use of their payphones, but cannot block them.

“AT&T is doing something in Iraq that would be banned in any shopping mall, airport or street corner here in the States,” said Retske.

NetworkIP, a Dallas-based leader in stored value solutions, developed the CallMe Card, a prepaid toll-free service, to enable connections between service personnel in Iraq and their families, and then donated 10,000 cards to service personnel and their families to make it easier for them to maintain connections with their loved ones. AT&T blocked the use of the CallMe Card by service personnel.

Pete Pattullo, Network IP CEO and president, added, “It is unfortunate that restrictions from AT&T are resulting in more hardships for our troops. Companies should do all they can to enable communications — not restrict them.”

Retske added that he hopes that by exposing this, some action may be taken to offer GI’s a more economical alternative for staying touch with family back home.

Unique, prepaid telecommunications service provides friends and loved ones back home with a personal toll-free number for soldiers to use while overseas

DALLAS (December 30, 2004) – NetworkIP, a leading provider of communications technology, today announced that it will donate its CallMe Card telecommunications services in support of the largest Texas Army National Guard deployment since World War II. The company will donate 1,000 toll-free numbers in the form of $5 CallMe Cards to soldiers honored at a deployment event to be held Saturday, January 1, 2005, at 2 p.m. CST in conjunction with Baylor University in Waco, Texas.

NetworkIP’s CallMe Card provides users with a personal, toll-free 800 number to give out to family and friends at rates far below those associated with traditional toll-free services. This new service enables consumers to have calls forwarded to any designated number, including their home, cell or office phone. Users can redirect and recharge the number at any time via phone or online customer service.

“NetworkIP is pleased to join Operation Phone Card toward the goal of helping keep our soldiers connected while deployed,” said Pete Pattullo, president and CEO of NetworkIP. “We continue to hear how cost prohibitive it can be for our soldiers to keep in touch with loved ones back home while deployed. The CallMe card is ideal for soldiers stationed overseas because it allows them to contact their loved ones without the worry of exceeding minutes or incurring the high rates associated with other alternatives. We know how important it is for soldiers to maintain contact with home.”

In January 2005, the Texas Army National Guard 56th Brigade Combat Team will be sent to Iraq in the largest overseas deployment of the Texas National Guard since World War II. Approximately 3,300 soldiers are being deployed to support the United States’ ongoing efforts in the region.

Each CallMe Card donated by NetworkIP provides up to one hour of air time for soldiers overseas calling their family and friends. Users can designate where the call will be received to ensure they will be available for the call.

Unique, new product provides friends and loved ones back home with a personal toll-free number for soldiers to use overseas.

DALLAS (September 15, 2004) – NetworkIP, a leading provider of communications technology, today launched The CallMe Card on the Tony Danza Show. The company donated 10,000, toll-free numbers in the form of $5 CallMe Cards to Cell Phones for Soldiers, a program that enables soldiers stationed overseas to communicate with loved ones back home.

“NetworkIP is pleased to join such a worthwhile cause with our CallMe Card offering,” said Pete Pattullo, president and CEO of NetworkIP. “The card is ideal for our soldiers stationed overseas because it allows them to contact their loved ones without the worry of exceeding minutes or incurring the high rates associated with other alternatives. We know how important it is for soldiers’ morale to maintain contact with loved ones on a regular basis.”

The Cell Phones for Soldiers program was started by thirteen-year old Brittany Bergquist and her twelve year-old brother Robbie of Norwell, Massachusetts, after they learned about a local soldier who ran up a massive cell phone bill calling home from Iraq. As a sign of support, they immediately pooled their money together and opened a savings account at South Shore Bank to aid the soldier. The bank then donated $500 towards their efforts.

The Bergquist’s hope is to provide as many soldiers as possible with much needed communication vehicles, including prepaid calling cards and cell phone service. The organization has already distributed calling cards to soldiers in Iraq, Kuwait, Afghanistan and other bases around the world.

Each CallMe Card donated by NetworkIP provides up to one hour of calling time for soldiers overseas calling their family and friends. Users can designate where the call will be received to ensure they will be available for the call.

DALLAS – May 19, 2003 – In an effort to help U.S. troops, NetworkIP, an industry leading application and access provider of converged voice and data services, has donated 1,000 phone cards to Operation Uplink. Operation Uplink is a program initiated by the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and its Ladies Auxiliary to provide free phone cards to all uniformed U.S. troops and hospitalized veterans stationed here or abroad. The program is made possible through the generous donations from VFW members, as well as concerned corporate citizens like NetworkIP. Over the past six years, Operation Uplink has distributed more than two million phone cards to veterans and active duty military personnel.

“NetworkIP and its employees are honored to have the opportunity to help our servicemen and women stay connected to family and friends. I am very proud that we can support our troops,” says Pete Pattullo, NetworkIP President and CEO.

Each phone card donated by NetworkIP has a value of 400 domestic long distance minutes and may be used to call internationally. In addition, the cards are activated for three of NetworkIP’s unique prepaid services: traditional prepaid phone calls, prepaid conference calling, and prepaid dial-up Internet service. Prepaid conferencing will be of special interest, as this service enables multiple family members or friends to talk on one single call together, up to 28 participants! Access to the conference-calling feature for all participants is as simple as dialing a toll-free access number and entering a 7-digit conference code (provided on the card).

“This gift of calling home couldn’t have come at a better time,” said VFW Commander-in-Chief, Raymond Sisk. “Thousands of our servicemen and women are suffering the effects of separation in Iraq and other areas around the world. NetworkIP’s generosity will go a long way toward easing that hardship by helping them stay in contact with family and friends.”

NetworkIP is a member of the International Prepaid Communications Association, a trade group based in Washington, D.C., that has endorsed Operation Uplink and urged its membership to support it. IPCA Executive Director Howard Segermark said, “NetworkIP’s contribution is a great example for the industry and we’re hoping that many more phonecard issuers will follow suit.”
