NETWORK ENGINEER

DESCRIPTION:  Responsible for the support and delivery of networking services to internal and external customers in a fast paced telecommunications environment. Performs analysis and diagnosis of complex networking problems. Provides design assistance, performance services, and architectural network design of medium to large scale networks. Discipline in Router/Switch with very strong secondary expertise in Security are mandatory. Undertakes support & on-call duties as required. Receives minimal direction toward daily goals and objectives. The position reports to the department manager.

REQUIRED SKILLS:  The appropriate candidate will be knowledgeable in Cisco IP Internetworking, LAN Switching, VOIP, & Security. Strong inter-network troubleshooting experience is a must.  The ability to proactively detect, analyze, isolate, and resolve problems is highly desired.   Network Design Experience, medium to large scale network design skills. Ability to leverage technical expertise to others. Knowledge of Network Management, network availability, & capacity planning. Strong understanding of Cisco current and emerging technologies is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to develop, coordinate and execute complex project plans and timelines independently or within a group. Recommends and ensures proper technical alternatives have been selected and implemented.

EDUCATION:  Requires BS/CS or equivalent plus a minimum of 4 to 6 years related technical experience. Minimum CCNP required.
