NetworkIP, an industry leading e.Application and Access Exchange provider of converged voice and data services today announced an increased emphasis on marketing of its e.Cable solution – because it provides a “lifeline” for cable operators that have been or may be abandoned by their Internet service providers (ISPs).

“Our e.Cable product continues to be a viable and economical option for cable operators to keep their ISP offerings afloat as many Internet providers go under,” said Pete Pattullo, president and CEO of NetworkIP. “Cable providers can continue to offer a value-added service to their subscribers today while minimizing the risk and capital investment required. And, e.Cable allows the cable operator to private-brand their own service. It’s a win-win situation for all.”

NetworkIP’s real-time Web-based e.Services Network (e.SN) provides the cable operator with a paperless, prepaid environment including complete back office functions such as provisioning, billing, technical support, reporting and service control. Cable providers can offer email accounts, Web hosting accounts and varying service levels for Internet access.

NetworkIP’s broadband offering is built on the Simplified OpenCableT solution, which allows the cable operator to deliver self-provisioning to subscribers without separate software installation. The solution reduces costs for the cable provider by virtually eliminating truck rolls and drastically reducing the man-hours required for customer service.

Other key advantages to the cable provider include 100% guaranteed billing revenue on every customer, proven self installation and self provisioning, private branding, zero ($0) OSS or capital investment required, and simple & quick customer conversion. The cable operator controls all aspects of their own service offering.

NetworkIP maintains the network infrastructure and customer data, while the cable company provides ISP services and cable access. The underlying platform will manage and clear every transaction administered by each company involved. One advantage to this business model is that cable providers have real-time access to customer service data, which allows them to maintain the customer relationship.

In addition to e.Cable, NetworkIP offers a variety of voice and data services that can enable cable providers to generate new revenue sources and provide a bundled broadband offering of enhanced, value-added communications services to subscribers. Current services include e.Prepaid Calling Cards, e.Prepaid Long Distance, e.Prepaid Internet (dial-up Internet service), e.Conferencing and DuoCash Stored Value Transactions.

NetworkIP, an industry leading e.Application and Access Exchange provider of converged voice and data services today will introduce its new e.Local Dial Access product at the Intele-Card Expo 2001 in Las Vegas, Nev.

The e.Local Dial Access allows distributors to offer to end-users a local access calling card that eliminates the need to dial 1-800 numbers for access and avoids incurring the associated surcharges at payphones. (Surcharges for prepaid long distance calls at payphones typically cost as much as one dollar per call.) The offering saves money for the end-user and creates a loyal customer base for the distributor.

“Distributors can create hometown brands, which build customer loyalty and repeat business,” said Pete Pattullo, president and CEO of NetworkIP. “For the end-users who make lots of calls, avoiding those recurring surcharges will be a significant savings each month.”

Because the access numbers for the cards are local, end-users can use a long distance calling card by dialing specific local numbers for each designated city. In addition, the end-user can also use a 1-800 access number if out of the local access area. For a distributor or retailer, this will create separate revenue opportunities for every city in which it has a presence.

For the end-user, the e.Local Dial Access service will include all of the advantages common to other NetworkIP offerings, including cost containment and accessibility. The product feature can also be “bundled” on a single PIN with all of NetworkIP’s services.

In addition to e.Local Dial Access, NetworkIP offers a variety of voice and data services that can enable distributors to generate new revenue. Current services include e.Prepaid Calling Cards, e.Prepaid Long Distance, e.Prepaid Internet (dial-up Internet service), e.Conferencing and DuoCash Stored Value Transactions.
