NetworkIP, an industry leading e.Application and Access Exchange of converged voice and data services today announced the deployment of it’s e.Cable high-speed Internet services to eleven WEHCO Video system cities with approximately 177,500 households passed and 112,800 current customers. WEHCO is marketing its cable broadband Internet service offering under the trademark cablelynxTM.
e.Cable by NetworkIP is a cable modem solution that enables any DOCSIS-compliant cable company to provide privately branded, self provisioned high-speed Internet and voice services to their subscribers with minimal back office investment. This solution delivers self-installation & self-provisioning to the subscriber without separate software installation.
“We are very excited to introduce cablelynxTM high-speed Internet service,” said Larry Risner, WEHCO Video’s Director of Marketing. “We believe that bundling products is the way to generate new revenue in new markets. e.Cable allows us to quickly add Internet services for our cable customers without taking a huge hit in startup costs. The NetworkIP platform is easy to use and the self-provisioning software significantly reduces truck rolls. We can private brand our own product, manage all back office aspects of the service offering and maintain the relationship with our customers.”
e.Cable provides the subscriber quick and easy self-installation and self-provisioning of high-speed Internet service and the ability to manage their own service accounts online. NetworkIP’s real-time Web-based e.Services Network (e.SN) provides the cable operator with a paperless, prepaid environment including such back office requirements as provisioning, billing, rating, customer care, reporting, and bandwidth access levels. Other service offerings available for cable operators using NetworkIP’s e.Cable e.SN solution include e-mail accounts, personalized Web pages, and varying service levels for Internet access.
“While other broadband access providers have focused on content and manually provisioning modems, NetworkIP focused on doing it right!” said Pete Pattullo, President & CEO of NetworkIP. “We have overcome the perception that self-provisioning and bandwidth control is unattainable in the current technology environment. In spite of the nay-sayers, NetworkIP has achieved its goal of providing a frictionless self-service solution that embraces marketing dynamics and private branding.”
NetworkIP is also providing WEHCO with a mobile communications product that provides users with a combination of prepaid Internet and voice calling card services for use away from the home.

NetworkIP (www.networkip.net), an industry leading e.Application Access and Exchange Provider of converged voice and data services, today announced the launch of e.Prepaid Internet. e.Prepaid Internet is an e-mail capable dial-up Internet service sold by distributors through retail supply channels, similar to a prepaid phone card. The product allows the prepaid card distributor to add a prepaid Internet product, critical to their portfolio, with no additional back office or capital investment. This stored value product allows users to expend value as they actually use the service versus traditional Internet service, which charges high monthly fees even if the subscriber does not have any use.
NetworkIP has partnered with a Tier One carrier to provide a nationwide infrastructure for prepaid dial-up Internet access using the fastest, most robust backbone in the industry. Local dialed e.Prepaid Internet access covers 90% of the U.S. population. Toll-free access is also available to ensure the remaining 10% of users have access to a clean, fast connection. The product can be sold as a stand-alone card, but a highly demanded reusable mini-CD-ROM is now available to allow ultra-fast, easy loading of the product & key programs.
San Diego, CA-based WEBcard Technologies, Inc. will provide the development and content on a miniature CD-ROM for each distributor with private branding to their specifications. The WEBCard CDTM, which is a business card-sized CD-ROM, provides the consumer with the means to an easy-to-use method of delivery to download the dialer and setup e-mail.
e.Prepaid Internet is fully integrated with the same Web-based service interfaces as NetworkIP’s other superior prepaid services. The distributor controls all service charges, round-ups, and card expiration. Another key feature of this product is that the distributor can also combine e.Prepaid Internet with any combination of NetworkIP prepaid calling cards, long distance, and audio conferencing on the same card, using the same PIN. Multiple products on the same PIN mean greater profit per user, improved retention and larger potential revenue per card.
“With our new e.Prepaid Internet product, NetworkIP has delivered a superior Internet solution for computer users including those who are credit-challenged, business travelers, are reluctant to sign up for traditional monthly Internet access or current Internet users who have found they do not use the Internet enough to justify monthly fees,” said Pete Pattullo, President and CEO of NetworkIP. “We are the first service provider to offer this unique prepaid solution that allows our customer to combine multiple voice and data services all in one product, using the same PIN!”

NetworkIP (www.networkip.net), an industry leading e.Application and Access Exchange of converged voice and Internet services and BillMatrix Corporation (BillMatrix), a leading provider of comprehensive electronic payment solutions and services over the telephone and Internet, announced today their joint participation in a program providing an automated telephone recharge solution for prepaid phone card customers. This solution, now in pilot production, will allow distributors that utilize NetworkIP’s advanced network services to offer their customers a more efficient, cost effective, and intuitive approach to replenishing their existing phone card.
Using the patented BillMatrix System, a phone card customer will be able to recharge their card, on a real-time basis, utilizing a credit card or electronic check. The system can be accessed from any location using a touchtone phone. This “on-demand” program will not require a customer to pre-register in order to benefit from this convenience.
“The prepaid phone card industry has always needed a simple and seamless recharge option, where the customer can pick up the phone and in a minute be talking again with their existing PIN”, said Pete Pattullo, President and CEO of Network IP. “Upon completion of the pilot, this product will be available to all of our prepaid services customers including cable and Internet.”
Historically, significant fraud rates and limited payment options have been roadblocks to the success of on-demand telephone based recharge programs. As a result, customers have often been required to talk to a live customer service representative where costs are high and hold times are significant. BillMatrix will draw on many years of experience processing on-demand telephone based payments for the prepaid telecommunications industry to address the fraud issue.
“We are excited about the opportunity this pilot program presents for BillMatrix and NetworkIP to create a new convenient and reliable method of recharging phone cards,” said BillMatrix President and CEO, Scott Walker. “During the pilot period, we will closely monitor attempted fraud and make adjustments to our fraud detection systems, paving the way for a full rollout of the recharge program.”
Daily recharge reporting to the phone card distributor of minutes purchased as well as daily deposits into the distributor’s bank account gives the distributor greater money management flexibility. Participating distributors will also benefit by increasing cash flows from their existing cards in circulation since customers will be more willing to recharge their existing card rather than making a point of sale purchase at a retail location.
